CONTRACT WIN IN GUIZHOU PROVINCE
BlueStar SecuTech plc (AIM:BSST.L), a leading provider of digital video surveillance solutions ("DVRs") is pleased to announce that it has signed a contract to provide its DVR networking software to the Guizhou Provincial Branch of the Bank of China.
BlueStar will provide software to control the DVRs in the Bank of China branches, located in Guizhou Province's eight cities by the end of December 2007. The Company's network solution will link the branches of the eight cities and connect them all to GuiYang city in Guizhou Province, where they will be centrally controlled and monitored. This contract further demonstrates the Company's ambition to expand into tier two and three cities, where DVR penetration is still low.
Until now, there has not been a standard control protocol for DVR manufacturing, and as such products have not been compatible if produced by different manufacturers. Furthermore, 20 per cent of installed DVRs are renewed every year as a result of government regulations, in order to ensure the systems work efficiently. Once BlueStar installs its networking solution, the Company will be in an advantageous position when the Bank of China branches in Guizhou Province's cities come to replace their DVRs, due the compatibility of BlueStar’s DVRs with its own software.
The first order from the Guizhou province is an important event for the Company. We hope this agreement will mark the first step towards further expansion into the area, enabling BlueStar to provide its full range of DVR solutions to the province's banks. At present the DVRs being used in this province are PC based. Once BlueStar installs its networking solutions, the Company will be in a position to take advantage when the banks replace their DVRs.
